Parenting is Hard

If you are a parent, you know first hand that parenting is hard.
Our kids are beautiful blessings to us and they reveal pieces of ourself that need work.
Yup, we parents all need work because there is no such thing as a perfect parent.
We fail - a lot.
And the wonderful thing about failure is it gives us parents an opportunity to learn and grow WITH our children.
God chose YOU to be the parent of your child/children.
You have something special within you that your child needs.
We aren’t here on Earth to be perfect parents and raise perfect children.
We are here to be REAL human beings.
We are here to learn empathy.
We are here to learn strength.
We are here to learn how to love one another.
Your child needs you and you need them.
It’s a symbiotic relationship that involves give and take - learning and failing and doing it all over again (sometimes in the same minute).
I often catch myself taking the teacher role with my children because I’m “older” and physically taller than they are (for now).
But age and height are just numbers that don’t prove or grant someone the title of teacher.
Our children have so much to teach us.
Our children have so much to REMIND us about life.
We should focus on growing with our children, in mind, body, and spirit.
Parenting is hard. Being a kid is hard.
But we ALL can do hard things.
We all can learn and grow together.
So let’s drop the perfection act.
Let’s instead strive to be real,
to learn frequently,
and to love deeply.
TANCKS for reading.
