What Our Children Truly Need Is LOVE

I try not to give unsolicited advice.

(I use the word "try" as I am not perfect and I am sure I have provided advice that wasn’t requested at some point in my life).

I do share experiences that have worked for our family in hopes to offer different perspectives and options for parents and families.

Becoming a parent and being a parent seems to open the flood gates for unsolicited advice.

Everything from what to buy, what to feed your children, what not to do, how to raise your children, how to dress your kids, etc.

It’s overwhelming.

It’s scary.

It’s downright crazy at times.

Just looking at all the baby items for sale is enough to give someone heart palpitations and send them into cardiac arrest.

A gentle reminder for you:

All your children truly need is your LOVE.

Advertisements will convince you that you need XYZ to be a good parent,

but what your children need is your heart.

That can’t be found in a store or box,

it’s found within you.

Sharing your heart with your children doesn’t cost anything and it will aid their growth and development time and time again.

No physical item is more important than YOU.

No physical item can replace YOU.

You were hand picked to be the parent of your children and it was not a mistake. Something within you, your heart, your soul, is needed to raise and love these little beings.

Yes, children need food, water, shelter, and a safe space to learn and grow. But they do not need fancy gadgets and the newest and coolest clothes or toys to be happy.

Less is more - For babies, children, teens, adults, and everyone beyond.

We don’t need all the stuff.

All we need, all we will ever need is love. Lots and lots of love.
