Our big news has become public knowledge - We are building a house!

We are thrilled to share this exciting news with everyone, but it also has my brain gears turning.

Our family currently lives in a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom apartment.

We moved into this apartment when Micah was almost 8 months old and he just started to crawl. Our landlords made sure we had brand new carpet in the apartment to ensure Micah would be crawling on a clean surface.

We moved into this apartment in 2019 to pursue our ambitious goal of becoming debt free. We hit that goal in March of 2020 while the world was shut down.

We survived a pandemic in this space. Many memories of our family were within this dated apartment.

Trevor has worked from home in this space. His “office” has been in each room of the apartment - dining room and ALL three bedrooms as we moved Micah into his big boy room and prepared Chelsey’s nursery.

We were pregnant with Chelsey in this apartment.

We brought Chelsey home to this space. Chelsey learned to crawl in this space.

It’s possible that BOTH of our children will learn to walk in this apartment.

We have had family dinners and gatherings around our small, four person, $40 second hand table.

We have downsized to a one stall garage and made it work. We even did the one car family life for a few short months.

We have tested many boundaries in this apartment.

Four people, one dog, three bedrooms, average appliances, and 1,200 square feet.

What we have learned throughout this experience is: You don’t need much.

It might sound contradicting to say this statement as we build our next home.

As a family we have thrived and survived in this small space. It has been a wonderful experience as we made the best of every moment here.

We will enjoy having more space, a basement, and a yard to call our own at the next house, but the physical house isn’t a home until we make memories within it.

Our houses are a sacred space to hold us and to keep us sheltered.

We were already complete moving into this apartment 2+ years ago and we will leave this apartment complete before we move into our house.

We are complete without our physical items, regardless of what the media tells us.

You are complete in this moment, even if you aren’t exactly where you want to be or had hoped you would be.

You are complete in your current space and the next space you will fill.

You are complete in the here and now.

You. Are. Complete.

TANCKS for reading!
